Developing Naan Gallery’s identity was a challenge of balancing two seemingly contrasting personalities: an accessible, welcoming platform for artists and audiences, while maintaining the prestige of an established art gallery. The name “NAAN,” meaning mother, and the director’s inspiration from the women in her family, led me towards a feminine visual approach. I wanted the identity to reflect both the child and the woman she becomes, creating a postmodernist concept that embraces the past while welcoming contemporary artistic expression.
